Salary: £25,750–£27,500 FTE (depending on experience)
Role Overview
An organisation delivering inclusive sport and physical activity programmes is seeking an experienced and values-driven Inclusive Sports Coach to work across schools and community settings.
This role would suit a coach who is confident working independently in school environments, experienced in adapting activities for SEND and additional needs, and able to build positive, professional relationships with pupils, school staff and partners.
Delivery will be primarily across Canterbury and Swale, with occasional sessions in Thanet.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead inclusive sport and physical activity sessions in schools, community venues and care settings
- Adapt activities to ensure all participants can engage safely and positively
- Deliver school-based provision including:
- Inclusive PE support
- SEND-focused sessions
- Enrichment, intervention and holiday programmes
- Create welcoming, supportive environments where participants feel valued
- Act as a professional representative when working with teachers, SENCOs, carers and partners
- Support assistant coaches and volunteers during sessions
- Maintain attendance records, feedback and basic session administration
- Travel independently between delivery locations
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be:
- Confident managing groups independently in school settings
- Calm, approachable and professional in their delivery
- Passionate about inclusive sport and physical activity
- Organised, reliable and a strong communicator
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering structured sport or physical activity
- Experience working in schools or formal education settings
- Experience supporting SEND, SEMH or additional needs
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
Desirable Criteria
- Level 2 or Level 3 sports qualification
- Experience in special schools, alternative provision or care settings
- Knowledge of inclusive or adaptive sport approaches
- Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
