Main purpose
- To be available at all time to advise clients on legal matters relating to your specified disciplines.
- To promote the Firm and develop a client base.
- When required to assist with the management of the firms affairs.
Qualifications, skills and experience
- Admission as a Licensed Conveyancer
- Numerate and IT literate (ideally Microsoft Outlook and Office); knowledge of Legal software packages
Main responsibilities
- To comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Rules on the Professional Conduct of Solicitors.
- To manage all work allocated by the head of department or other partner in accordance with detailed procedures and quality standards contained in the firm’s Office Manual.
- At all times to exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner dealing with any complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- To maintain up to date company and commercial awareness sufficient to relevantly promote the image, ethos, services and interests of the company.
- To ensure good working relationships within the firm and with external institutions and organisations.
- To ensure that all client work is progressed expeditiously and that the client is kept regularly informed on progress and on costs
- To achieve agreed levels of billing and time recording.
- In close liaison with the Accounts department to have overall responsibility for credit control on own matters.
- To maintain clear and precise communications with other personnel of the firm.
- To perform all other reasonable duties as may be appropriate from time to time.
- To take responsibility for and attend to self-development including compliance with the relevant training requirements of the SRA.
- To ensure the confidentiality and security of all of the firm’s and client documentation and information.

- To monitor and help develop systems and procedures within the partner’s work area, including the use of technology.

- Good communicator, demonstrating effective team work and showing good interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with clients.
- Manages time effectively and plans workload, prioritising tasks appropriately.
- Exercises judgement and initiative in their work escalating issues in a timely and appropriate way.
